The studio cast album for A Christmas Story, the upcoming Broadway musical based on the 1983 holiday classic, will be released digitally through Masterworks Broadway on September 25, before hitting stores on October 22.
With a score by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the 18-track album was recorded last year after the show's national tour finished its five-city run. The album will feature John Bolton as The Old Man and Clarke Hallum as Ralphie. Other cast members from the tour will contribute to the album, as well as special Broadway guests Liz Callaway and Tom Wopat.
Song titles from the album include “Red Ryder,” “A Major Award,” “You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out,” “Before The Old Man Comes Home” and “A Christmas Story.”
Dan Lauria will play narrator Jean Shepherd in the Broadway production of A Christmas Story, which begins performances November 5 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Opening night set for November 19. The limited engagement will end its run on December 30. Complete casting for the production has not yet been announced.
